Take Out |
This section is suitable for beginners with ample parking at each end for a big group. In the summer months there is not much current for most of the trip, so it could be paddled in reverse with minimal effort and walking a few sections. There are two short easy rapids midway through the section. Normally these are nothing more than a few ripples and good eddies for ferryglide practice, but a sizeable wavetrain forms in high water.
To get to the take out; Take exit 163 off Highway 417, going SW on Panmure road. After going through Panmure, turn left onto Blakeney road/County road 17. Just past Blakeney, cross the river and park on the right.
To get to the put in; Continue along Blakeney road and turn left on Christian street/County road 29. turn left again onto Almonte street, and park on the left when you see the river.
